REVIEW:
Stars:  5/5 Stars

I absolutely fell in love with Defier. Mandy Fender wrote such an amazing story. The characters were well developed, and pull you into the story. I couldn’t put the book down. I loved how the book doesn’t lead to the idea of a dystopian book until you get a few chapters in. It was a breath of fresh air, with all of the Dystopian books out these days, that throw you right in the middle of all of the chaos, and just expect you to figure it out. You are lead into the story the same way that the Character are. (Might I just say that it takes a Pro to do this right? Go Mandy!)

This book talks about Christianity (If you aren’t religious this won’t be an issue, You’ll understand what I mean when you read. You won’t be bias, or offended ect.) and standing for what you believe in the face of adversity. (The Girl Who Stood, come on. GIRL POWER!)

The story line reminded me a lot of events that happened in the Holocaust, which as a History Major pulled me into the writing more. I wish I could express into better words just how much I love this book.

If you have been looking for a good Dystopian book that you won’t want to put down, pick up Defier now!

REVIEW:
Stars: 4.5/5 Stars
** spoiler alert ** So I love this book. I couldn’t put it down. I feel heartbroken by that cliff hanger ending too.

Writing: 5/5
Love Interest 1: 1/5
Love Interest 2: 4/5
That 5 Year later part is gonna haunt me..

Feels on the book:
Samantha: I LOVE HER. It was insta love for me. I felt like I could relate to the character and that is such a big deal for me. I love her story with Jonathan(In the beginning if I’m being honest, more on that later) and Christopher . Just wow. Amazing.

Jonathan: Well I hate to say it but ugh. Just No. I had no love for him at any part of the story except for when he was little. I don’t know if it was just me but I didnt like him. He seemed like what my gen would call a “Fuck boy” I feel bad for hating him but I just didnt like him. (Might be personal reasons but he reminded me of my ex and I spent the WHOLE book wanting to punch him in the face)

Jonathan & Samantha: Ill admit it was super cute that they grew up together and they had a deep connection, but I just didn’t feel like they belonged together (Horrible right?) In my mind I’m just stuck in the the asshole is doing great, go figure. jack off. Samantha deserves better… which leads me to…

Samantha & Christopher: WOW. Okay. I loved them together. I felt like they fixed each other. I didnt feel it in a rebound way I honestly wanted them to be together. I still do. They fit together, they have the same interests and he is amazing. He is the guy Samantha deserves.

Let me say again I love this book. It is going to stay with me, but I can’t help but feel robbed. Jonathan just reminds me way too much of the Guy that you should stay away from when Christopher is much rather the guy you should be with. Maybe its just me?

REVIEW:
Stars: 100/5 Stars (or for the people who don’t like exaggeration thats 5/5)

This book was amazing, I stayed up all night because I could not put it down!

I absolutely loved how Jennifer built this world, literally, its another world set after the destruction of Earth after getting supernova’d by our sun. This world is called Xon 9, in this world there is Ka, our main character is having a dilemma because she doesn’t know what element she should choose for her future.

There are five elements; wood, earth, metal, fire, and water him and which ever element you are chosen for or picked for, there are good sides and bad sides to each element and they each have an affinity for jobs in the community.

Ka was a very well developed main character, she’s very relatable, and extremely strong. There is some romance but doesn’t take away from the action packed story at all. I found myself constantly saying, one more chapter until I finished the whole book. (No regret whatsoever) I cannot wait for the second book, its moved to the top of my TBR and this one is on my favorites shelf already!

I don’t want to give away any spoilers but definitely try and get your hands on this book! You won’t regret it!
