Goodreads Rating: 4.86 Stars
Goodreads Summary:

In this first volume of the suspense series (for ages 16+), a young educated Chicago woman, Kelly Donovan, must escape from her luxurious home to get away from her sociopath boyfriend, Mark Flannery, before he takes her to a woodsy cabin for a little “anniversary get-way.” She must plot, lie, and pretend to be happy before she can flee her relationship and her own home, alive. Unforeseen obstacles frustrate her efforts to get away, and Kelly’s family and friends, strangers to one other, must perfectly work together to help her live a life free from threat. The diverse group includes an insecure drama teacher, a brilliant pharmaceutical engineer, and an international businesswoman with a secret that comes in very handy at one critical point.

This story is uniquely narrated by inanimate household teddy bears, which, notwithstanding their immobility, have interesting thoughts and perspectives on the shocking events and intriguing relationships which form before their plastic eyes. These plush bears also get a healthy dose of an entertaining blooming romance when Kelly’s plight takes everyone overseas to Paris. While in France, more scheming, racing to stay steps ahead of Mark, and even physical violence ensue – violence which does not always involve a damsel in distress. To complicate matters further, some of the characters are not necessarily what, or who, they seem. Once the plot’s feverish pace decelerates, the group starts to feel some hope, but is the race really over? The genre-mixing mind-bending narration style makes this novel a sensational ride. Enjoy!

REVIEW:
Stars: 5/5 Stars

Whoa. So this book hit me a lot harder than I though. It deals with abuse in a relationship but in a different approach that a lot of book cover. Rather than being told from  the person being abused, it is told from Teddy Bears. (I’m serious) It was so different that, it made me not want to put it down. I loved it. I read it in a night. I was beyond curious about how it was told and what would happen
I’m not one for Suspenseful books. I never have been. This book is that good. But every chapter kept me going. I loved it. I can’t wait to read more books from Donnalyn Vojta! I couldn’t believe this was her first book. She wrote like a pro. It takes a very talented writer to write a book so different from the norm and have it have such an amazing outcome.

Author Bio:

From an early age Miranda Brock has always loved fantasy and adventure everything. Since she doesn’t live in a world of enchanting powers, mythical beasts, and things unbelievable she has decided to write about them. (Although, if you happen to see a dragon flying around, do tell her.)

Born in southern Illinois, where she still resides with her husband and two children, she grew up running through the woods, playing in creeks, and riding horses. What started out as writing poetry grew into short stories and eventually led to her first novel, Souls Discovered.

Miranda lives in the country where she finds inspiration in the simplicity and beauty around her. With the help of a ridiculous amount of coffee and some good music she writes whenever she gets a chance.

What Reviewers Are Saying:

“A tangled web in the battle of good versus evil, fated responsibility and feelings from the heart as one girl must rise to the occasion and go beyond the call of duty.”

“Exciting and magnetic, drawing the reader into the action and emotions of the characters.”

“The interesting characters and fast-paced action had me captivated to the end.”

“You will love the characters, you will love the story, you will scream and cry and try to slam on the brakes as you ride the rollercoaster of this plot.”

I read a lot of good books. This one though. Just wow. My mind is blown. I’m in love with the story, the characters the writing. All of it.

The characters were well written and you really just enjoy them. I don’t want to be too Spoliery. But they way they cross over (You’ll understand at the end) Was AMAZING. I honestly Didn’t see it coming at all. Or the ending for the fact. I was crying a good 15% of the last part of the book.

The Visuals for the scenes and Ur was amazing. GAH. The storyline guys. THE STORYLINE. Oh my gosh. I loved it. I read 3/4 of this book in one sitting. I couldn’t put it down and kept telling myself one more chapter, one more, and then I finished.

I loved the Christian and GOD aspect. I was thinking during the book that maybe, that was who the character was, and I was glad I was right. (For those that aren’t religious, I promise it isn’t overbearing in the book, you will still enjoy it!)

If you get a chance to read this book please please please do. You won’t regret it!

Goodreads Summary:

No one’s afterlife is as dispiriting as Audrey’s―at least that’s what she believes after waking up dead without her memories and being promptly assigned to hunt demons for the rest of eternity. She’s convinced God’s made a cosmic mistake; after all, she’d rather discuss the color of her nails than break them on angelic weapons.

It doesn’t help that her trainer, Logan, is as infuriating as he is attractive. And just when Audrey and Logan appear close to developing an amicable relationship, a decision made under duress pushes their hearts in a direction neither of them saw coming.

Despite her sub-par fighting abilities, an ancient weapon of unparalleled power chooses Audrey as its wielder, attracting the cautious gazes of her fellow hunters and the attention of Satan himself. With Satan’s eyes now fixed on Audrey, a battle for the safety of the living looms in the shadows.

About the Author

Julie Hall was a late blooming reader, but once captivated, writing became her dream.

14434144Going the practical route in college she earned a business degree from the University of Michigan. After school, she worked in marketing and publicity for both television and film, until she’d had enough of selling other people’s creative expressions.

She miraculously convinced her dashingly handsome husband that having ten years of experience mentoring youth, the idea of quitting her job to write a young-adult novel was the sensible thing to do.

Since then she’s become a puppy mama to a goldendoodle named Bear, and an actual mother to her adopted daughter.

Stars: 5/5 Stars

I’m going to start off by saying just go pick up this book now (Seriously, there is no way you can be disappointed)

I LOVED this book. (Might also be my fourth time reading it, and guess what? My view of it never changes, I just love it more and more every time)

Everything having to do with Audrey and Logan was just perfect, and coming from me (The hater of all things Romance, only sometimes though) That is saying something. It isn’t over whelming. Julie made it were Audrey was still B.A.  As in without needing a guy to make her more so. (Can I be more like her please?)

Julie did an amazing job describing afterlife and Heaven, were as a lot of book always tend to over do it, by making it seem unattainable, that isn’t the case here.

I’m trying so hard not to get too spoilery for everyone! I really just loved everything about the writing, the story and the characters.

But don’t take my word for it, pick up a copy now and message me, leave me a comment and tell me your thoughts!

REVIEW:
Stars: 4.5/5 Stars
** spoiler alert ** So I love this book. I couldn’t put it down. I feel heartbroken by that cliff hanger ending too.

Writing: 5/5
Love Interest 1: 1/5
Love Interest 2: 4/5
That 5 Year later part is gonna haunt me..

Feels on the book:
Samantha: I LOVE HER. It was insta love for me. I felt like I could relate to the character and that is such a big deal for me. I love her story with Jonathan(In the beginning if I’m being honest, more on that later) and Christopher . Just wow. Amazing.

Jonathan: Well I hate to say it but ugh. Just No. I had no love for him at any part of the story except for when he was little. I don’t know if it was just me but I didnt like him. He seemed like what my gen would call a “Fuck boy” I feel bad for hating him but I just didnt like him. (Might be personal reasons but he reminded me of my ex and I spent the WHOLE book wanting to punch him in the face)

Jonathan & Samantha: Ill admit it was super cute that they grew up together and they had a deep connection, but I just didn’t feel like they belonged together (Horrible right?) In my mind I’m just stuck in the the asshole is doing great, go figure. jack off. Samantha deserves better… which leads me to…

Samantha & Christopher: WOW. Okay. I loved them together. I felt like they fixed each other. I didnt feel it in a rebound way I honestly wanted them to be together. I still do. They fit together, they have the same interests and he is amazing. He is the guy Samantha deserves.

Let me say again I love this book. It is going to stay with me, but I can’t help but feel robbed. Jonathan just reminds me way too much of the Guy that you should stay away from when Christopher is much rather the guy you should be with. Maybe its just me?
